Day 1

Mombasa/Diani – Ziwani, Tsavo West

Your safari adventure kicks off early in the morning as you depart from your coastal hotel and drive inland towards Tsavo West National Park. Entry into the park is via either the Maktau or Taveta Gate, depending on your pickup location.The Safari offers scenic views of rural Kenya and the distant Taita Hills. Upon arrival at the charming Voyager Ziwani Camp, located near a peaceful dam frequently visited by hippos and crocodiles, you’ll check in and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. The afternoon brings an immersive nature walk guided by a professional naturalist, giving you the chance to explore the local flora and fauna on foot while learning about animal tracks and plant uses. As night falls, prepare for an extraordinary night game drive, one of the rare safari activities allowed in this region, giving you the chance to spot elusive nocturnal wildlife such as genets, civets, porcupines, and with luck, leopards or hyenas. Your evening ends with dinner and a night under canvas at Voyager Ziwani lodge, immersed in the tranquil wilderness.

Day 2

Ziwani – Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, your safari continues as you drive through the wild landscapes of Tsavo West on your way to Tsavo East. Along the route, keep your eyes open for game viewing opportunities—elephants, giraffes, or ostriches may appear unexpectedly across the volcanic plains. Entering Tsavo East via Voi Gate, you will arrive at Voi Wildlife Lodge, ideally situated near a waterhole that attracts a variety of animals throughout the day. After lunch and some rest, head out for an exciting afternoon game drive through Kenya’s oldest and largest park, renowned for its dust-red elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and predators like lions and cheetahs. Don’t miss iconic landmarks such as the Aruba Dam, a magnet for wildlife during dry seasons, and the Mudanda Rock, a massive rock outcrop offering panoramic views and often visited by elephants. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, with the option to watch wildlife from the lodge’s terraces overlooking the waterhole.

Day 3

Tsavo East – Return to Coast

After early breakfast early morning game drive, a prime time for wildlife sightings as animals are most active during the cool hours.Game drive en route and then exit the park around 10.30 am then route back to the coast follows, with the possibility of making optional stops en route—be it for local crafts or cultural interest spots. Arrive back in Mombasa, Diani, Watamu, or Malindi in the afternoon, concluding your 3-day adventure filled with memories of Kenya’s spectacular wildlife and landscapes.
