Mombasa/Diani/Watamu – Tsavo East National Park
Your safari begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your beach hotel or resort. You’ll travel in a 4×4 Land Cruiser jeep or a pop-up roof safari van, heading inland toward Tsavo East National Park. Depending on your location, you’ll enter the park via Bachuma Gate (from Mombasa/Diani) or Sala Gate (from Watamu/Malindi). Immediately after entering, your first game drive begins. Keep your eyes open for red elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and perhaps even lions or cheetahs.
You’ll arrive at your safari lodge or tented camp—such as Ashnil Aruba Lodge, Voi Safari Lodge, or Sentrim Tsavo Camp—in time for lunch and a bit of relaxation. In the afternoon, set off again for a second game drive, this time focusing on key areas like the Aruba Dam, a hotspot for wildlife, and the impressive Mudanda Rock, a natural water catchment area and excellent viewpoint. After the drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight, enjoying the sounds of nature under the African sky.
Tsavo East – Return to the Coast
Start the day with an early morning game drive, the perfect time to spot animals while they are still active before the sun rises high. Look for predators returning from the hunt and herbivores gathering at waterholes. Afterward, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, followed by check-out. Enjoy one final en-route game drive as you exit the park. You’ll then begin the return trip to your beach hotel, arriving by early to mid-afternoon, just in time to relax by the ocean with incredible memories of your bush adventure.
